At the annual meeting of the Council of College and Military Educators, CCME, in Orlando, Fla., the following awards for 2012 were announced:

CCME JOHN BRIAN SERVICE AND LEADERSHIP AWARD

Demonstrates dedication and leadership in providing quality, voluntary, off-duty education programs at his/her military installation

Winner: Ann Hunter, chief of Navy Voluntary Education

CCME LIFETIME ACHIEVEMENT AWARD

Demonstrates dedication and leadership in the delivery of quality education programs to the military over the course of their careers

Winners:

Dr. James Anderson, retired chancellor of Central Texas College

Jeff Hayccraft, tuition assistance operations manager, Army National Guard

Marcy Shapiro, former director of the SOCGuard program

CCME INSTITUTION AWARD

Demonstrates dedication and leadership in supporting quality, voluntary, off-duty education to the armed services

Winner: American Military University, accepted by Dr. Wally Boston, president of AMU

CCME BARRY COBB AWARD

Demonstrates dedication and leadership by a governmental organization in providing quality, voluntary, off-duty education programs or services

Winner: Ramstein Education Office, Ramstein AB, Germany, accepted by Thomas French.

CCME 2011 PRESIDENT'S AWARD

Presented to an individual who has made a significant contribution that has advanced the cause of military education

Winner: Louis Martini, Thomas Edison State College

CCME is an organization of institutions of higher education and military, government personnel dedicated to the advancement of educational opportunities for members of the United States Armed Forces and their families.
