Higher Education: School Profile |
| Delaware Valley College |
| Delaware Valley College maintains admission requirements to ensure that students entering DelVal as either a freshman or a transfer student are properly prepared for our engaging academic atmosphere. Freshman candidates must be graduates of an approved secondary school or preparatory school or have earned their General Educational Development (GED). Families involved in home-study programs are urged to contact the Director of Admissions at (215) 489-2211 for further information. Criteria for admission include academic transcripts, class rank, SAT or ACT scores, letters of recommendation and a personal interview. High-school applicants enrolled in Advanced Placement classes are encouraged to take the respective AP test, administered by the College Entrance Examination Board. Students with an AP grade of ŗ" or better will be excused from the appropriate introductory course and will receive credits for the course. In addition, the College will grant academic credit for satisfactory performance on a number of specific subject examinations that are part of the College Level Examination Program (CLEP) and the Defense Activity for Nontraditional Education Support (DANTES) program, both of which are administered by the Educational Testing Service of Princeton, NJ. The College is officially designated as a CLEP Testing Site. Details on the College's policy regarding CLEP may be obtained from the Mathematics Department at (215) 489-2465. While DelVal has a rolling admission period, applications should be submitted as early as possible in the senior year, preferably by the end of the first marking period. |

Lucy Drenth, the Certifying Officer for Veterans Affairs, said the veterans have proven to be a great asset to everyone in the college community. "Veterans have been coming to Delaware Valley College for decades," said Drenth. "All degree programs and most certificate programs at DelVal are VA approved, so a veteran has many programs of study from which to choose." Veterans interested in applying to DelVal should follow standard application procedures through Admissions or the Office of Continuing Education, and then they should contact Drenth. "From admission through graduation, I am the veteran’s liaison. For all they and their families have done for us, it truly is an honor to serve them." <br> <br> </td></tr> </table> </div> </div> </div> <div class="storybody" style="vertical-align:top"> <table cellspacing="0px" cellpadding="0px" align="left"> <tr> <th><li>Headquarters address</li></th> </tr> <tr> <td> 700 East Butler Avenue<br> Doylestown, DE 18901 </td> </tr> <tr><th><li>Web Sites</li></th></tr> <tr> <td> <a href="http://delval.edu" style="color:#000099" >http://delval.edu</a> </td> </tr> <tr><th><li>Admissions Phone #</li></th></tr> <tr> <td>Phone: 800-233-5825<br></td> </tr> <tr><th><li>Financial Aid Phone # </li></th></tr> <tr> <td> Phone: 800-233-5825<br> </td> </tr> <tr><th><li>Military program contact</li></th></tr> <tr> <td> <u>Lucy Drenth</u><br> Phone: 215-489-2475<br>E-mail: <a href='mailto:[email protected]'>[email protected]</a> </td> </tr> <tr><th><li>Type of School</th></tr> <tr> <td> 4-year Private College/University<br> </td> </tr> <tr><th><li>Online classes available</li></th></tr> <tr><th><li>Top 5 majors or degrees offered</li></th></tr> <tr> <td style="padding-left:10px"> - Agriculture and Related Sciences<br> - Business Management<br> - Criminal Justice<br> - Natural Resource and Biosystems Management<br> - M.B.A. Global Leadership </td> </tr> <tr><th><li>Cost</li></th></tr> <tr> <td> <font style="font-weight:bold">Tuition: </font>$12,846 for up to 18 credit hours (2009-2010 academic year)<br> <font style="font-weight:bold">Room: </font>$2,230 (2009-2010 academic year)<br> <font style="font-weight:bold">Board: </font>$2,688 (16 meal plan) (2009-2010 academic year)<br> <font style="font-weight:bold">Other: </font>Yes, see website for details </td> </tr> <tr><th><li>Yellow Ribbon Program Participant</li></th></tr> <tr><td>Amount Available: Up to 100% of tuition and fees</td></tr> </table> </div> </div> </div> <div id="footer"> <div id="footer"> <div>Affilliated Sites:<br /> <a href="http://www.gazette.net/">Gazette.Net</a>|<a href="http://homes.gazette.net/">Homes.Gazette.Net</a>|<!--<a href="http://www.gazette.net/buyandsell">Gazette Buy and Sell</a>|--><a href="http://www.dcmilitary.com">DCMilitary.com</a>|<a href="http://www.somdnews.com">SoMdNews.Com</a> |<a href="http://www.Fairfaxtimes.com">Fairfaxtimes.Com</a> </div> <div class="copyright">Copyright © <script type="text/javascript"> var d = new Date() document.write(d.getFullYear()) </script> Post-Newsweek Media, Inc./DCMilitaryEd.com<br> <a href="https://dcmilitaryed.com/ssi/contactus.php">Contact Us</a>|<a href="http://www.dcmilitary.com/cms/misc.php?id=4">About Us</a>|<a href="https://dcmilitaryed.com/ssi/privacy.php">Privacy Policy</a> </div> </div><script type='text/javascript' language='javascript' src='://www.dcmilitaryed.com/js/htadjust_ffx.js'></script></div> </body> </html> |
