The mission of the Foundation is to support development of engineers and technical personnel through selective motivational awards, prizes and scholarships, grants for educational activities of unique and high value and professional educational programs. AFCEA Educational Foundation	AMVETS annually awards scholarships to veterans, their sons, daughters or grandchildren. A son, daughter or grandchild of a deceased veteran is also eligible. Awarded on the basis of academic excellence and financial need, the scholarships go to deserving high school seniors, high school JROTC students and veterans pursuing a higher education. The Army College Fund (ACF) is an enlistment incentive option designed to aid in the recruitment of highly qualified Soldiers for critical or shortage Military Occupational Specialties (MOS). The ACF supplements the basic Montgomery GI Bill (MGIB) entitlement. Army College Fund (ACF)	The LRP is a special enlistment incentive that the Army offers to highly qualified applicants at the time of enlistment. ARNG Benefits is the virtual gateway to request Tuition Assistance (TA) online, anytime for classroom, distance learning, and online college courses. Army National Guard Benefits	The Christie Memorial College Assistance Award is given to a former enlisted Marine leaving the Marine Corps to attend a four-year institution. Admission Requirement
All new students must complete an Online Application for admissions. Placement Testing Most new students should take the English placement test. A photo ID is required, such as your NOVA Student ID, a driver's license, Military ID or green card. Allow approximately two hours for the test. Students whose first language is not English will normally need to take an English proficiency test. If you have completed a college-level English course at another college, you may not have to take this test. If you plan to take a math course, you will have to take a math test. Other courses, such as chemistry and physics, require math and English placement tests as well. You can check with the Counseling Center on any campus for more information about which tests you need. MCB Quantico: Placement Testing (Math & English) Students who wish to take their placement tests at MCB Quantico should contact the NOVA representative at Quantico at 703.640.6303. No placement testing is offered at Fort Belvoir. NOVA Testing Centers NOVA Sample Tests With both the English and math placement tests, you may not have to take the either if you have completed college-level math and or English courses at another accredited college or you have successfully taken the CLEP or DANTES tests. If students have questions, they should contact a NOVA counselor at the Base Education Center or the military advisors. Meet a Counselor There are counselors available at the NOVA office at the base who will assist students with selecting a program of study and/or choosing classes.

We also have a Military Site Office (MSO) that helps military students with the same services other students use such as admissions, registration, credit evaluation and educational advising. MILITARY DEPENDANTS As military dependents you may be eligible for a variety of educational benefits, ranging from the Survivors and Dependents Education Assistance Program to MyCAA. MILITARY VETERANS NOVA’s Offices of Veterans Advisors (OVA) provides veterans with information on their educational benefits, such as Post-9/11 GI Bill. Each semester, veterans using or wanting to use educational benefits must report to the campus OVA after completing the enrollment process. To maintain your educational benefits in good standing with the Department of Veterans Affairs you must immediately inform the campus OVA if you: drop, add or audit classes; stop attending classes; have a class cancelled, withdraw or are withdrawn from classes or the college; are unable to attend classes or; make any changes to your enrollment status. We recommend that you visit any one of our Offices of Veterans Advisors for more information.
